我的母國從殖民主義的殘骸一路走來，並成為建基於革命理想而建立的獨立國家，後來卻由一個反動的國家機器所統治——故鄉的歷史迫使我思考一個根本性的問題：究竟該如何建立一個真正公正的社會？這個問題最終引領我加入了抵抗者聯合。
在加入抵抗者聯合之前四年，我來到台灣，身上背負一個在長期殖民與帝國支配下形塑而成的國家之政治知識遺產。在那個受壓迫的年代，獨立鬥爭的多元思想潮流——馬克思主義者、民族主義者，以及宗教運動——匯聚成為一個統一戰線。他們共同建立了一個民族國家：在形式上具有社會主義與宗教性格，以一部偏左的民主憲法作為基礎。然而，獨立數十年後，那份革命的承諾已然枯萎。如今，這個國家被困在一個充滿不平等的資本主義體系之中，受政治菁英與企業寡頭所主宰。
革命起源與當代現實之間的這種矛盾，驅使我去追查究竟哪裡出了問題。在這個過程中，我愈發被政治理論所吸引，特別是馬克思主義。我試圖理解：世界是如何被思想家們解釋——又如何在鬥爭中被改寫——這些思想家跨越時空，包括我故鄉的反殖民、反帝國人物，再到西方當代的批判性知識分子。對我而言，這些理論不僅是一種理解歷史的工具，也是一副用來把握塑造當下社會結構的透鏡。
然而，求知的行動是為了使知識本身發揮意義——我不僅僅是要分析世界，而是要改變世界。我所研讀的理論要求行動，在這份信念的驅使下，我加入了我故鄉某個政黨的台灣支部，並因此得以直接參與政治工作，與工人建立具體的連結。 在這條道路上累積了一些經驗之後，這世界因緣際會讓我遇見了一位抵抗者聯合的成員，而他後來又透過一個學生組織，把我介紹給其他成員。透過持續的互動與共同的政治實作，我確信抵抗者聯合的原則與我的理念一致。對我而言，加入抵抗者聯合，代表著邁向重建國際社會的一個具體步驟：透過組織、團結，以及致力於社會進步與平等的運動，去鍛造一個新的世界。
From the wreckage of colonialism to an independent nation founded on revolutionary ideals yet governed by a reactionary state, the history of my homeland compelled me to ask a fundamental question: how should a truly just society be built? This question ultimately led me to join Resistance United.
I came to Taiwan four years before joining Resistance United, carrying with me the political legacy of a country shaped by prolonged colonialism and imperial domination. During that era of oppression, diverse currents of the independence struggle—Marxists, nationalists, and religious movements—converged into a united front. Together, they established a nation-state that was formally socialist and religious in character, underpinned by a left-leaning democratic constitution. Yet decades after independence, that revolutionary promise has withered. Today, the country is trapped in a capitalist system marked by inequality, dominated by political elites and corporate oligarchs.
This contradiction between revolutionary origins and contemporary reality drove me to investigate what went wrong. In doing so, I found myself drawn increasingly toward political theory, particularly Marxism. I sought to understand how the world has been interpreted—and contested—by thinkers across space-time from anti-colonial and anti-imperialist figures in my homeland to contemporary critical intellectuals in the West. These theories, for me, have become not only a tool for understanding history, but a lens through which to grasp the structures shaping the present.
However, gaining knowledge comes with a price—not merely to analyze the world, but to change it. The theories I studied demanded action. Compelled by this conviction, I joined the Taiwanese branch of a political party from my homeland, where I was able to participate directly in political work and establish concrete connections with workers.
After gaining some experience from this path, the universe let me encounter a member of Resistance United, who later introduced me to other members through a student organization. Through sustained interaction and shared political practice, I became certain that Resistance United’s principles aligned with my own. Joining Resistance United represents, for me, a concrete step toward rebuilding international society: forging a new world through organization, solidarity, and movements committed to social progress and equality.
